Where will we be in a year's time? What do we want to accomplish? This week we asked the girls what their long term goals for pole and hoop were! Only a few weeks away from the competition now, if you want to come and support us don't forget to buy tickets! Lexi My first goal is to keep doing what I'm doing! I love the pole, hoop and fitness classes I take and I need to make sure I keep going to them (pretty sure this is an easy goal!) My pole goals are as follows:
And here are the hoop ones:
Honestly I'm so happy with what I've achieved this year that I can't wait to see what I'll be doing in a year's time! SophieSo this time next year...I would like to be working towards being a beginner hoop instructor, as well as pushing myself to do things I wouldn't normally do! I want to improve my flexibility and push myself out of my comfort zones and having a lot more aims and goals for each year! I'm very excited about what is to come! HannahSo thinking about where I would like to be in a year from now....well....I would liked to have won solent!!! Haha. I am thinking that within the next 12 months I would like to attend more classes within the week. So far I have been attending 1 lesson a week and then lots of comp prep as extra in the run up to solent. The progression I see in that time is rewarding so this is what spurs me on to attend more than 1 lesson! I still have a few moves that I consider to be my nemesis so I would finally love to be able to get a couple of them. It feels as if they are hampering me from progressing in higher level moves. If I am asked the same question as this in a year's time I would like to be able to look back and see that I had achieved what i set out to do. For the moment though I am concentrating on trying to make this my year for solent comp!!! Eeeeeek. SamiThis weeks blog is all about our goals, and I have so many pole/hoop/flexibility/strength goals that it's been hard to pick out the top ones that i think are feasible in a year! Pole wise I want to nail my deadlift aerial invert and shoulder mount by this time next year, and be able to do a superman (with minimal terrified screaming)! For hoop I want to be able to deadlift onto the top bar and for my scarabs to be a lot bendier! Flexibility wise my long term goals are to be able to do the splits and to be bendy enough to touch my feet to my head, but I know that those will take more than a year so for next year I'm focusing on making a marked improvement in the moves where these flexibility elements are key such as bridge, jade splits and cocoon to name a few in pole, and gazelle and back balance in hoop! I think it's really important to have goals to give yourself something to work towards, and to anyone trying to achieve their ones remember to take progress pictures! As sometimes you don't realise how much you've improved at something until you look at a previous photograph of it! EmilyThis is a tricky one... I find it hard to imagine what things will be like in a year... I would hope that I’ve got better by this time next year! I guess goals would be easier to define in categories so here goes: Pole - I think what I would like to achieve is just to fill out what I already know... I feel like there are lots of gaps in my knowledge about how to do certain moves and I need constant reminders and demonstrations of how to do sometimes even the basic stuff! I think that I would be happy if this time next year my skill set was just a bit more fleshed out! I do feel like I am just blagging it sometimes! Hoop – I would like to improve the way I move around on the hoop, I’m a bit awkward to say the least! I am also dead determined to do a Pokémon themed routine, even if the bosses don’t approve and not for a comp... just for my own personal amusement! Fitness – I would like to improve my strength and flexibility. I want to be able to do freaky things with my back and nothing I do is surprising us anymore! I also want to be stronger, I like feeling strong. I think even after all the comp training is done I would like to maintain a good level of fitness and I even plan on continuing going to the gym! General life – Well of course by this time next year I will be planning my round the world trip with Sven, my handsome Scandinavian lover that I met during my charity hike, just before I won the euromillions. After the round the world trip we are going to settle down in our country mansion and get a puppy. Or something like that. LaurenThis week Lauren has been on holiday in America! We are all very jealous but we have let her off this weeks blog post so that she can stay out enjoying the sun!
