Because we are halfway there.... We have been dutifully blogging for half of the run up to the competition! Let's see how everyone is getting on now that we have passed the halfway checkpoint!

Ah the NEMESIS move... Every aspiring aerial artist has one... You know that one move that you just can't get, even though you feel like you should be able to by now! The one that everyone else seemed to get so easily that has taken you months and months just to grasp the basics? We call those moves our nemesis moves, mostly because it sounds exciting and dramatic, but also because after a while it starts to feel like that particular move has it in for us! It's not all doom and gloom this week though! We are also going to be talking about our signature move, the one that we love, the one that makes its way into all of our routines!
In the pictures below you will see us doing (or attempting to do) our nemesis moves above our words and our signature moves below! Enjoy!
Five weeks into the preparations for the competition and the time is just flying by! Even though two out of five of the girls were away this week they still managed to get in a bit of time for some comp-prep action! We have had planking, stretching and even a little tree-acro from our girls abroad! As for the rest of us... Well... I think the video below speaks for itself!
This week we have asked to hear from family and friends about what it is like to support someone through the competition process, how they feel about thier competitors and thier involvement!
Each of the girls has a dedicated support network and reading through the comments, it is lovely to see just how proud our family and friends are! To support the girls in the comp don't forget to buy tickets at https://thorndenhall.ticketsolve.com/#/seated-events/127898608
This weeks video montage includes clips from some of the pole artists mentioned in the girl's blog from friday as well as a couple of the images that gave us the inspiration to try new moves!
What inspires us to get off the sofa and hang upside down on a bit of metal? Who do we look up to and what do we aspire to achieve? This week we have asked the girls to tell us about where they find the inspiration for their routines, whether it be music, people, movies, lobsters, theatre, instagram, nature... Wherever the flash of pole genius may come from!
Monday montage come early! Our video this week showcases the variety of music, dance and costume that we have discussed in our blog posts. All the girls are looking forward to getting back in the studio and getting started on our routines!
Between the five of us we have certainly had some varied themes for our routines! This week we asked the girls to tell us about the process they go through when deciding on music and costume to use for a competition entry! For some it seems that theme is half the battle and if not done right can mean the difference between succeeding at a competition and a routine falling flat. Even if your pole moves are on point, if there is no theme, costume or dramatic flair to the performance then it becomes more difficult for the judges and the audience to connect. Let's hear what the girls have got to say around the subject...
